Acer LiquidAcer held a press conference in London during this past week, where they showed off the Acer Liquid smartphone for the first time. A number of publications managed to get hands-on with the phone and posted their impressions and photos of the Android handset.

Cnet found out that the Liquid will support an enhanced version of Google Sync that syncs Google email, contacts and calendar as well as Outlook email, calendar and contacts. You will also automatically be able to upload your videos to YouTube and your photos to Picasa.

The Liquid will offer another type of syncing called Acer Sync. This will able you to pair the Liquid with any Windows PC over the same Wi-Fi network. You’ll need to install a client onto your PC/laptop, but once done, you can backup OTA without a USB or Bluetooth connection.

Electric Pig seemed to confirm that the handset will be launched on the 28th November in the UK, although carriers are unknown right now. Pocket-Lint have some great hands-on photos of the red handset. They found out that the interface has a three-page home screen set, unlike the HTC Hero that has seven. Both TechRadar and Stuff also has some good hands-on photos of the Liquid handset.

Finally, HDBlog.it put a detailed article on the user interface before they pulled the post (most likely to appease Acer). However, Phandroid and Slashgear has most of the hands-on photos they put up including some of Acer’s own customisations on the UI.
