Android EclairGoogle has officially announced SDK (software development kit) support for its latest & greatest version 2.0 of Android (dubbed Eclair). This enables current developers to create new application programming interfaces for features such as device synchronisation and Bluetooth.

Interestingly, Google confirmed that a number of new Android handsets will be released over the next months running on Android 1.5, 1.6, or 2.0 (one of these will be the Acer Liquid no doubt!) A minor update to v2.0 is also penciled in and will be the last update of the year.

Google has outlined a complete list of new features in Android 2.0 here and it looks like a very welcome update. Check out the official Eclair (Android v2.0) launch video after the jump.
