Acer Liquid via FCCThe Acer Liquid Android smartphone has passed through the FCC, which is normally an indication that a device is due to launch in the US at some point. Interestingly, the report shows that it will come with support for both the 850 & 1900 frequency bands, the same bands that AT&T uses for 3G.

AT&T has not launched an Android handset so far and the Acer Liquid could very well be the first. It will want to make sure it can compete with Verizon that has embraced Android with its best-selling Motorola Droid and Droid Eris. T-Mobile has a number of Android handsets whilst Sprint has the HTC Hero. We’ll bring you more news as we have it.
