Android ÉclairOne of the most common questions that prospective Acer Liquid purchasers are asking, is will an Android 2.0 (Éclair) update be available for the handset. Phandroid is reporting that it will indeed and will start shipping in 2010.

Now they don’t cite how they know this information, nor do they give any sources. However, they are normally quite reliable so we’ll take their word for it.

Excerpts google translated:

“I can assure you 100% now that Acer Liquid will actually updating Android 2.0.x, information came to us directly from Augustine Becquet, the Director of Acer Smartphones France.
(…) Android version 2.0 will be available later in March 2010 on the Acer Liquid, which met on this very successful business. We are exploring ways to update over the air “or” download “via the website http://www.acer.fr.

That’s a little odd, it’s the 30th march, i’ve had an update but no android 2.0. Was it all a myth?

on liquid.modaco.com there’s leaked 2.1 ROMs people are using as a base for their mods, so I’m assuming Acer is also doing internal testing for an 2.1 upgrade rom. and considering liquid E is not officially out yet, they’re probably just delayed in releasing it.
