Acer LiquidStronger than expected sales of the Acer Liquid Android smartphone has led to shortages of the device. Quite impressive considering it’s only been shipping for the last couple of months and not even in that many regions. The demand has most likely been led by positive reviews and keen pricing.

“Liquid is doing much better than our expectation,” Gianfranco Lanci, president of the Taipei-based company, said in an interview yesterday. “This is why we’re a little bit short of supply.”

Acer initially expected to sell around 150k to 200k Liquid handsets by the end of his quarter, however it now expects to sell at least 250k. The Acer Liquid is manufactured by ODM Compal, Acer is planning another Android handset manufactured by Foxconn during this quarter.
