System Update Notice

Postby IT_Contractor » Fri Apr 02, 2010 11:59 am

Hello

My current OS is:-

Acer_Liquid_1_002.03_EMEA_GEN1

I am getting a notice to update my Liquid. The notice asks me to upgrade to :-

OS_Acer_2.000.16.EMEA.GEN1_A16D_A

When I goto to the Acer website, there appears one called

OS_Acer_2.000.16.EMEA.CUS1_A16D_A

When I try to upgrade, it fails and informs me of incompatible OS.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

I have also tried to update my firmware, and not had much luck.

I get caught in a loop, when i try and upgrade. Everything goes well, until i get a screen message to make sure my phone is in OS mode, and a few moments later it reports an error. Without an error code. It than asks me to unplug the phone, remove the battery, and reboot the device before starting again.
This has become a never ending spiral.

Any thoughts??

Solution: Carry out following steps on handset before connecting to pc to solve "incompatible OS"

Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging > Pop up window stating allowing installation of data "press O.K" >
Connect handset with PC thru USB

Enjoy upgradation. No more OS issues. Please switch off debugging after updation.
